How does Gift Aid help WAM?
Gift Aid is a Scheme designed by HMRC to allow Charities to claim back some of the tax paid by the individuals who fund the Charity.
WAM does not insist that its members use the Gift Aid Scheme but by opting to pay your subscriptions or donations under the scheme you are helping WAM to raise more money at no extra cost to you. In order to do this you must satisfy a few very simple conditions.
(a) You must be a UK tax payer and have paid Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for the tax year (6 April to 5 April inclusive) in which you are claiming Gift Aid;
(b) You must have paid enough tax to cover the amount that you are donating to us;
(c) You understand that other taxes that you have paid such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify;
(d) You understand that WAM reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 donated from HMRC.
